This post is about the famous Sarojini Nagar market in Delhi, India. This post has two parts. The first one is about how to reach Sarojini Nagar Market using Delhi metro and the second part is about is it worth to visit on a Monday when it is supposedly closed.

So, on to the first part! Sarojini Nagar metro station is on the pink line so you have to interchange on the pink line if your already not on it. For example, on yellow line Delhi Haat is the interchange station. From blue line Anand Vihar is the interchange station. So, basically you have to look for a pink line station to reach Sarojini Nagar Market. Metro trivia- the Pink Line Metro is a driverless operation. The market is at a walking distance from the metro station.
The second part is about visiting the Sarojini Nagar Market on a Monday. Sarojini Nagar Market is not for the faint heart. It is an extremely crowd market on all the days except Monday. Why is it not so crowded on Monday?

Sarojini Nagar Market is supposedly closed on Monday. So the shopkeepers go to buy fresh stock which will be available from Tuesday. But almost all the permanent shops are open selling various fashion clothing and accessories. It is the pavements which are not full of hawkers and people. Hence, it feels pretty spacious compared to other days. This is not the normal feeling when you visit Sarojini Nagar Market.

So is it worth to visit the Sarojini Nagar Market on Monday? If you ask me for me, it is definitely worth it to visit in on Monday, because of of the lesser crowds. You still get to see a lot of fashion clothing and you do it in relative peace. Then if you visit it from Tuesday to Sunday there is a mall nearby where after all your shopping you can go and have food. On weekdays when the market is open, the mall also is extremely crowded. However, on Monday you can also eat your lunch in peace near Sarojini Nagar Market. My sister Alka and I visited the market recently on Monday and we definitely enjoyed the experience.
