How I Cancelled my Indigo Flight that was Between 5 to 15 December

Posted on December 6, 2025December 6, 2025

If you are an Indigo customer these days, chances are you are caught in some sort of flight cancellation or delay drama. I had tickets for two passengers on Indigo Airlines for Delhi Vadodara return. My dates were 6th December and 10th December return. By 5th December looking at the thousands of cancellations and I was getting nervous. As I was traveling for leisure I wanted to cancel my tickets.

I read about being able to cancel my flight without penalties if my date was between 5 to 15 December. I went hopefully on to the App and the website but the cancellation was coming with penalties, on a ticket of 21k roughly they were giving me 4k back. I was aghast. All my frantic posts over social media elicited zero response from the Indigo airline.

I kept trying the call center numbers the whole day on 5th but my call never connected. I was able to get to the customer care of Indigo after mid night. My wait time was about 45 minutes. Once my call connected, I was able to cancel my flight easily. I have been promised a full refund. I will update this post if I get the refund. So, if you are looking to cancel your ticket, try reaching the call center in the off peak hours. Be prepared to wait but once the call gets connected, it is easy to cancel the Indigo ticket after that for flights between 5th to 15 December.

Everyone reporting about the cancellation without trying to do it are happy with the announcement. It is when you really try to cancel the ticket, you face the harassment. It would have been so easy if it was possible to do it online!
