The Camera Saga!

I have been in Bangalore for the last week. The weather has been really good and there are a lot of birds to keep me busy, including my little one, Chhavi. The only hitch in all this has been my camera. Or rather what I packed and what I didn’t!

No, I did pack the camera and the zoom lens. What I did not pack is the spare battery and the battery charger. So, I have been clicking a lot of pictures but I have not used the display at all, that is the only way I managed to make the battery last for a week.

Yesterday the battery started showing the empty sign to my horror even then. I on a whim took it out and put it again. I have managed to take pictures that way till today.

In fact there was a bird that was roaming around with a cow. Looks like it was used to the human beings a little and let me come quite close to it. I started clicking and then suddenly I realized that the battery empty sign was coming. I managed to take out the battery and then put it back again. And the bird waited patiently till I got my camera working again! I like that kind of birds. Not the usual kind which start flying away even before I am in a half way decent position to click the picture and there are way too many of them in this world!

I manage to load the SLR pictures only after I am home, and it feels like a treasure trove at the moment I do not know how most of the pictures have turned up. If I go with my usual record almost every other bird picture will be blurred!

  3. i see picture of Myna@Barog. it really nice capture. there are many Mynas in Bangalore too, specially in the region you stay. near my home, i see quite a few of them and they let me come quite close to them, so close that my 4x zoom camera should be sufficient for taking a decent capture. but i am very bad photographer :(.
