In my family we love to travel. I do, so does my husband and my daughter too. But we all rarely go out together. We changed this when we went to Goa on a short holiday in April. We landed at the airport, we stayed at the Caravela Beach Resort and we went back to the airport. As I am growing old I have started to enjoy this too. Here are a few glimpses of Goa through my lens.
The Caravela Beach Resort has a few stunning murals and this one is at the reception. The off season price at the resort was about 10k per night with breakfast. The girl at the reception is my daughter Chhavi!
It was late in the afternoon when we emerged for lunch on the day we arrived. In the main dining hall, a few bus full of people also arrived as hungry as us. We gave up on the main dining hall and ran to the Beach Hut, It was a good decision. I was having cold so I could not drink beer straight away!
We had access to the Varca Beach from the hotel itself. That is where we spent all the evenings and some afternoons too.
A lot more time was spent by the pool by us which was just beyond this fountain! The main pool at the Caravela Beach Resort is deep, which meant less people and ease of swimming for people like me!
This was part of our room. We had an extra bed in the room and it still did not feel cramped. We tolerated each other well. We are still capable of taking a family holiday together without any drama. The drama portion is anyway supplied by the teenager in the house! In our time teenage was not respected at all. I got no extra allowance for being a teenager. I must have had the most boring teenage in this world!
The resort has huge grounds that are well maintained. We love to walk, it was a perfect match. The weather was hot but when the weather is better the prices are hot!
While Seshadri (my husband) was doing the check in formalities I was roaming around the lobby soaking it all in. It was crowded. I started chatting with a staff member. I mentioned that the place was crowded in the off season. She told me after Covid19 domestic tourists are traveling a lot and they have not seen any slack in any season since.
Chhavi and I are no strangers to hot weather and we did lounge on these chairs one afternoon. I liked the empty vibes!
Between the hotel and the beach shacks we ate all our meals, it was mostly good food. As I do not eat fried food often, I enjoyed the pooris one morning for breakfast!
I think I really needed this vacation, as I only took a few pictures! Most of the time I was interested in doing nothing! Abd it suited my mood perfectly. Otherwise I am known to take a million pictures every time I travel!
It is fun to record my travels and look at it after many years. When I read my old posts, I relive the experience. When I don’t write I lose that experience. I hope this will be my motivation to write more on this blog!
Here is a video of the clips from our trip to Goa. Here is to memories.
