It is sky watch time again! I was lucky to be in the mountains last week and one day I even managed to get up at dawn. I am not a morning person and getting up at the dawn is quite a feat for me. And I had whole of Jagatsukh almost to myself. I shared it mostly with birds!
But the landscape was breathtaking too and the sky was completely blue on that day, the kind of blue that I can only find in the mountains. In the plains it is a distant dream, everything is filled with haze and grey. And yet I end up living in a big city, it is one of the trade-offs of life!
I stayed out for around 3 hours clicking pictures and that was time well spent! I was a little cold from standing outside for such a long time but it was nothing that a hot cup of tea could not set right!
Jagatsukh is just 6 km away from Manali but it is a different world out there. Manali has become too crowded for me but the vistas around it are beautiful.
The good bit about the region is that if you get out a little further away from Manali you can still find quite places like Jagatsukh. Between Jagatsukh and Manali is Prini which has Club Mahindra and Holiday Inn as well. So there are luxury stay options available too. Though you have to remember that hotels keep closing and changing names in the region.
There are many home stays in the region available as well. This was a family vacation for me and we had a great time in Jagatsukh, Himachal Pradesh! We of course stay at the home of our trekking guide in the region, Ramakant ji.

That’s a beautiful sky shot you’ve captured. Somehow I didn’t enjoy Manali as much as I enjoyed being in Shimla.
what time of the day was it when you clicked this?
