Images from Anna Hazare's Fast at Ramlila Maidan

Posted on August 22, 2011

I went to the Ramlila Maidan this Sunday. The nearest metro station is New Delhi Station and there were so many people that I could just follow them and reach the Ramlila Maidan. This was one of the first pictures I took, the Nimbu Paani (lemonade) vendor with the national flag. Nation flags and…

Grasmere Gingerbread

Posted on August 20, 2011

I have to admit I am no fan of breads. Neither would you be if for 5 years (that was when I was doing my graduation and post graduation) all you got for breakfast was bread, the sliced variety that you can buy in India at every nook and corner. Whenever I have made…

Skywatch Friday- Sunset from Heysham, Lancaster, UK

Posted on August 19, 2011

It was such a peaceful evening, I was walking on the promenade, next to the sea while the sun was setting. I find it quite soothing. I think I walked for about an hour from Heysham to Morecambe Battery and I just have to close my eyes to relive it again! For more skies…

Sabudane ki Pakaudi from Dilli Haat

Posted on August 18, 2011

Last month (was it just last month! How does the time flies) my sister and I went to Dilli Haat, just the two of us. And we really had a great time. Feasted on food. I really truly liked the Sabudana Ka Pakaudi from the Maharashtra stall. It had bits of peanuts in it…

Which Car is This?

Posted on August 17, 2011

Saw this car in a pub’s car park at Ambleside in the Lake District, UK. No idea which car it is. If you know the name please drop in a comment, it would be really appreciated. I could have actually photographed the logo but then in a foreign land I had no desire to…

Street Artists from the Royal Mile, Edinburgh, Scotland

Posted on August 16, 2011

The girl with the happy expressions is the tourist. The dead pan expressions belong to the street artists. The road along which attractions like the Edinburgh Castle and the Holyroodhouse Palace are located is called the royal mile. It is a pity that due to the paucity of time I could not explore the castle at all.

Indian Tricolor

Posted on August 15, 2011

It is our Independence Day today but I am posting these Tricolors from the Anna Hazare’s Jantar Mantar rally. I support his cause against corruption. Wish I had been at the Raj Ghat today where he sat impromptu or at the JP Park where he may protest tomorrow. But it won’t be. Not possible this…

Painting the Boat, Morecambe, UK

Posted on August 13, 2011

One thing that I really love about UK is that it is incredibly walking friendly. All I can do on my vacations is walk, there is hardly any other type of holiday that I ever take barring a few exceptions. I have by now been to Oxford, London, Lancaster, Blackpool, Morecambe, Heysham, Edinburgh, Windermere and…
