Don’t go by the color of the water, this is a ditch in the neighborhood where lapwings are a regular feature. I have observed that these birds lay their eggs on the ground and if by mistake if you start walking that way, they scream and scream.
I had first clicked this bird on a lotus leaf! I have said this many times and I say it again, I became a bird watcher only after acquiring a zoom lens. And I get my birds identified here.
Looks like this egret got a bit dirty after taking a dip in the ditch water.
I get to see a lot of Mynas. Like this pictures because it felt like they were sitting on a ย swing.
And here was an Eurasian Collared Dove peacefully going about its business.
And finally even though this is not a bird I see them so often. And I know it is eating rice because someone had left cooked rice for the birds and squirrels on this wall.
wow.. you do live in a vey green place and have the eye for birds. I wouldn’t even know their names!
Wow! Could I please have the honor of just being with you and seeing you click these lovely pictures? It would be so much fun!

Fantastic pics Mridula. I’ve stumbled upon your blog, and am I glad!
Loved the pics, especially of the mynahs and the squirrel. Wonder how long it takes to capture even one of these vivid images?
Cheers
Amazing shots…..
gr8 shots of the lapwing and the squirrel. also, luved the framing for mynahs. the others u shud’ve got down to ground level for a better background – the ones u have a lot of clutter. still the sharpness and details are good.
