Watching Mt. Fuji from air was a spiritual experience for me. If you choose the correct seats and the weather cooperates, you too can witness this spectacle from air. While flying from Hong Kong to Narita Japan choose the A side (left side) window seats. While coming back from Narita Japan to Hong Kong the view is on the K side or the right side. There I told you, but you can continue reading the post for more insights!
While flying from Hong Kong to Narita Japan I was on the A side window seat but it was a completely cloudy day. While we landed while there was still sunlight outside no Mt. Fuji appeared.
While coming back I was on the K side window seat. Sometimes a fleeting glimpse becomes the defining moment of a trip! Watching Mt. Fuji from my plane was one such fabulous experience. I could not see it properly from the bullet train but the heart is full after watching it from the flight!
When the pilot announced on my Cathay Pacific flight (may God bless him) ‘people on the right side of the plane would be able to see Mt. Fuji in a minute’, I quickly checked if I was on the right side and yes I was. As we were at the cruising height the people from the middle rows got up to see if they too could catch a glimpse. When I finished taking pictures I saw one elderly gentleman still looking for a view. I took his phone and clicked a few pictures for him too! Joy multiplies when it is shared!

So to sum it up the Mt. Fuji views are on the A side (left) while flying from Hong Kong to Narita Japan and on the K side (right) side when flying from Narita japan to Hong Kong.
