Skywatch Friday- Dawn at Chilika Lake, Barakul, Odisha, India

I recently spent a few days around Bhubneshwar and along with my friends Ritu and Anurag, I went to Chilika Lake. I normally like to get up late whenever I can and previously it used to mean vacations too. But since I have realized that sunrise and sunset are the best times to click pictures I always get torn into two.

Part of my mind screamed that it needed more sleep when the alarm went off at 5.30 am on the day I clicked this picture. But I somehow dragged myself out of the bed and did not regret it.ย This was my first visit to Odisha and Chilika. And I wonder why they call Chilika a lake, it feels like a mini sea minus the waves, the water is just endless.

A glorious way to begin any day, Mridula and you’ve captured the skies perfectly! Glad you did manage to get out of bed — I can relate to your reluctance!! But it was definitely worth it! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
