Red Wattled Lapwing

Managed to click this on a very hot summer afternoon. But I was quite lucky to click this Red Wattled Lapwing from a very close range. It showed no inclination to run away, rather it looked like it was posing for me with that feet in the air. It was some consolation for getting out on a really hot summer day. I was out for around 20 minutes and managed to click around 4 different types of birds. More soon.

Love that red eye make-up and touch of pink on their wings.
Great shots! Just seeing them is prompting me to get out and buy a better camera for myself. Which one do you use, Mridula?

Appu this Red Wattled Lapwing is a common bird in Gurgaon, so I am sure you would have seen it before.

    Thanks Tarun.

Anu here is my secret of finding out the names of the birds-

Sunita this I clicked with the Canon D350 (outdated by two versions at least) with a 70 to 300mm zoom lens. But all the credit goes to bird, it was standing quite close and didn’t run away.
