When did you Last Kept Still for an Hour and Did Nothing?

When was the last time you lay down for an hour and you were awake? OK tossing and turning is not counted. I did it today morning at Rait, the spa at Suryagarh, Jaisalmer. I went for a Bliss Bali massage and it was sheer bliss to be pampered for an hour while the mind just thought of random thoughts or went blank. There was no flat surface (read TV, laptop, mobile screen etc) to stare at for an hour which really has become a rare thing in my life.

I can get quite ticklish so I prefer the harder strokes when I get a massage (which is rarely) so something like a Bliss Bali was perfect for me. Otherwise I am told their Signature Suryagarh Massage is very good.

The real opportunity of the trip had been for our group to be able to take two small hikes with the young owner Manvendra Singh Shekhwat and hear the story of how the hotel was build. But that post would require some careful thought so it will happen once I am back home.

This is my last day at Jaisalmer. And before you think I have stopped backpacking, I was here at the hotel’s invitation. But if you are looking for luxury the place has it.
