Rains at Mussoorie

Recently I was at Mussoorie at the invitation from Ilbert Manor. It was built in 1840s and now restored. I have to do a more detailed post but sometimes other things come in between.

In fact today I thought I would not be able to post anything, I felt too tired and it was already 11.45 pm. But then while I was still concentrating at work, my sister called and asked, “Hey is everything alright? You have not blogged about anything?” I knew then that I had to blog however late I got free!

So I am sharing a video of the pouring rains at Mussoorie. I had walked for most of the day. After 4.00 pm I came to the hotel and had some tea and snacks (you can see them in a picture if you click at the link). Then I should have stayed indoors and watched the Wimbledon finals between Nadal and Djokovic. I even thought of not going out but then the sun was out and I thought I would probably get a few good sunset pictures.

I started walking on the Camel Back Road (which I had walked in the morning too) and when I was exactly half way through and without any good pictures, clouds came. By the time I reached the Mall Road (don’t go by the name, it still has small shops only) and decided to head to the hotel, the skies opened.

I stood in front of a shop and made this video. Then the rains lessened and I started walking again. And then it poured again! So I stood in the doorway of another shop. In this way I reached a little ahead and was standing under the polythene shade of a small shop selling omelets (just standing, I didn’t eat any)  and it kept on raining hard. There was a group of people with a small kid and everyone of us just wanted to go to our hotels. Another lady with a kid told us, “There is an umbrella shop nearby, buy one! Take ours go and buy one” One of the members of the small kid without umbrella decided to go, so I gave them some money and requested them to buy an umbrella for me as well.

I am usually not afraid of going out in rain, after all I am not made of salt that I will melt away (it sounds much better in Hindi, namak thode hun ki gal jaaunge!) but my camera was with me and I didn’t want it to get wet. So umbrella it was and it was a good decision, I reached the hotel sometime after 8.00 pm and the rains stopped even later.

And that Rafel Nadal and Djokovic match? I am glad I missed most of it and only saw the last few and Nadal eventually lost. No point in watching that ball by ball.

That A++++++ for dedication towards your regular readers 😀

Omellette+tea in pouring rain would surely have tasted heaven, believe me, it sure does, pure bliss (even pakoras would have that desired effect)…

I still cannot walk properly with umbrella…I prefer to drench….:) and even is this rain i would surely have….
