Plumbeous Water Redstart

Plumbeous Water Redstart

Posted on January 15, 2013April 18, 2022

I clicked this picture of the Plumbeous Water Redstart while walking around in Palampur. I was walking from my hotel to the bus stand at Palampur. This Plumbeous Water Redstart was a very obliging bird.

When I saw it I had the kit lens on the camera. The bird was so patient that I could change my lens and then click pictures. First this was sitting on an electric wire and I got some record keeping shots. But then it changed its position and went to sit on a small hoarding. That is when I got lucky. But this is the only decent bird shot I have from the entire trip.

Nice little darling. Where is the red color? Maybe visible when it takes off in flight.

    Hi Mridula,

    Awesome shot Mridula.

Wow, you really got some time. The bird is used to modelling for photos, I guess. That’s the special thing about big tourist places, even the wildlife over there knows that this is a tourist place and that they’ll be clicked. I encountered such type of birds during my visit to Golden Gate Bridge.

    Regards

    Jay
