View of the Cenotaphs from the Bridge over the Betwa River, Orchha
This time it happened again. For the two days all I got was grey skies so don’t blame me if you find my pictures from Orchha dull. How I wished for some colors in the sky but no such luck. The picture above was taken at the sunset.
And the youth from Jhansi is a nuisance of the highest order. It has been after ages that we (Sesha and I and sometimes me alone) faced such a rowdy crowd.
Rowdy crowd ?And picture is awesome – brownish.
i like the view from far! and the brown colors!
I have noticed this rude crowd behavior sometimes. Especially when you are standing in a line to get in somewhere. And it always happens when they are in a larger group. I always brush it off as their need to show-off when they are amongst their peers. Most of the time I laugh it off unless it gets too pesky. Nice picture, maybe some after-processing to help the dullness?
great pics, mridula, in spite of the grey skies… to me, jhansi has only been a railway station on the mumbai-delhi line, and we have had some memorable experiences of chain and watch snatching during the short halt at the station… but this was wonderful!!! looking forward to reading the whole travelogue…
Nice pic..Plz explain on the rowdy part?
Just went thru ur links and photographs…One advice..if you think the photo is not good, then using the auto correct option in MS Picture Manager is not a bad idea. If the correction is not upto the mark u can always undo it. I now use it.Looking forward for your article on it.
The pictures are still nice. Sun or no Sun :-)Did you meet some rowdy reincarnation of the Jhansi ki Rani 😛
Rowdy crowd? ya, public in that region is not friendly.. and photos may not have come as you liked them to, but you should have enjoyed that weather.. off-course only if you are traveling in a comfortable vehicle (which is free of water).in western countries people hate that weather (they see it daily) but in India this is rare.I myself love traveling that way (imagine passing through Barog, when its drizzling. that experience is heavenly.. right ?).
Beautiful place. I should visit it (some day)… Rowdy crowd – coming this from someone who lives in Gurgaon/ Delhi area – friendliness level must be in dire strait in Jhansi.
simply awesome boss this photo…woww..and thanks Mridula for your kind words…
wow…nice rustic pic
Beautiful place…almost surreal!
Yes Hobo. Though I screened them out of the picture. Thanks Rocksea.Sid I would like to remember 5 year down the line how the place looked like so I do not indulge in too heavy processing.Anu that is sad.Tarun youth from Jhansi would ride their bikes and pass sundry comments.Sangfroid no :DAgreed Nilesh, it it was hot we would have stayed much more inside the room, no doubt.Atul, maybe the way I travel, I hardly interact with anyone, so it was quite sad to be the pun of unwanted attention, not that I do not know how to handle it.Ramesh thank you.Megha thanks.Sujata, I too like the way only tops of the cenotaphs are visible in the shadows.
The picture has a certain charm to it. Then the word 'rowdy' too has a certain charm to it….seems more affectionate than angry. :o)
VS I too like this picture 😀 No I am not at affectionate to people who pass rude and leering comments to all and sundry but getting angry too would get me no where. Ignoring such behavior is more of my policy.
We've had two days of rain here. Blah, blah, blah. Gray, gray, gray. But it makes you appreciate the sun when it reappears.
Kelly but when the sun comes out in India it is scorching hot! Apart from making my pictures gloomy rain is what we needed.
