Pixie Hollow, Disneyland, Hong Kong

Our Exciting Day at the Disneyland- The Hong Kong Edition

Posted on May 31, 2025May 31, 2025

Hey it’s Chhavi and I am not trying to hijack my mom’s blog. But here is another episode from our first trip abroad.

And then there was Disneyland

The third day of the trip? Boom. Best day. Because guess where we went? DISNEYLAND. Yep, the place where Mickey Mouse lives and everything feels like cotton candy and crazy rides.

So, outside our hotel, this fancy bus came to pick us up, it was like the bus was meant for my trip. There were other guests too, but obviously, I was the most excited one (I think). When we reached, the first thing I saw was a fountain—down it was water, and up top was Mickey Mouse himself just chilling on it. I LOVED that fountain.

Then, there was a statue nearby. Mridula (my mother), Vasudha (my sister), and I stood there for photos. But guess what? I was busy playing with something (don’t ask what, even I don’t know), and everyone wanted me to pose. NO THANK YOU. I was not interested in giving “poses” like a movie star. It was hot, I was already annoyed, and they wanted me to stand still? Impossible.

And then came the rides. OH MY CRAZY GOODNESS. The weather was boiling like the sun was sitting right on my head, and every ride had a 50 minute wait (which actually felt like five hours). My sister went on a roller coaster. I was too small, so I stayed with Mridula and waved bravely from the ground. Then came the elephant ride, Dumbo style. My sister dragged me into that line, and we waited… and waited… and WAITED. When we finally got on, it just went like doomey-doomey-doomey (yes, that’s the sound). No real flying. Just pretend rolling.

At some point, Vasudha and I were DONE. We begged mom to take us back. It was about 4.00 pm in the evening. She said, “Let’s just go inside somewhere with AC and cool off,” but we refused, the hotel, mission successful.

From Mridula, the Owner of this Blog!

“What can I say about Disneyland? As soon as we stepped out of the bus, I knew it was going to be one of those days, hot, exhausting, and filled with drama. I quickly spotted the taxi stand. I had a feeling the girls would give up sometime during the day. I tried to keep them interested, but kids are kids. The worst part for me? They’d order everything they liked the name of, then not eat it. Do you know how it feels to pay in foreign currency for untouched fries and melting sundaes?! I almost lost my mind.”

From Vasudha (My Sister)

“Yes, we went to Disneyland, and yes, it was magical. Even the long, crazy lines didn’t kill my excitement. But there was this moment, I went on a ride alone because Chhavi couldn’t be left by herself. When I got off, they weren’t there. I panicked so much I thought I’d faint. I was only nine, and I legit thought I’d have to live in Disneyland forever with Mickey Mouse. But then I saw them walking toward me like nothing happened. I wanted to cry but tried to look cool.”

A Sprinkle of My Thoughts (aka Chhavi Again)

Disneyland isn’t just about rides—it’s about moments. The weird ones, the funny ones, the panic, the drama, the ice creams that melt before you can finish them. It’s the place where memories get made—even the ones where your sister abandons you on a roller coaster, or your mother turns into a food police because you didn’t finish that churro!
