Oh My God!

Posted on May 8, 2008

I was browsing through my sitemeter and followed a link that led to a Hindi translation of my blog.
I mean the stuff is hilarious but only if you can read Hindi. Every other line is without context. Sample this-

In an ideal world this summer I would like to visit Ladakh again.
इस दुनिया में एक आदर्श मैं गर्मियों में लद्दाख फिर से यात्रा करना चाहते हैं .

Look at the picture at the left, can you blame me if I yearn to be there again?
चित्र में देख पर छोड़ दिया है , आप कर सकते हैं यदि मैं मेरे दोष इच्छा को वहाँ फिर से ?

Poor person, whoever s/he was and wanted to read the stuff in Hindi. I hardly ever try translating stuff on the web so this came as a surprise for me.

PS. Will follow up on the previous post soon. This post was done on the spur of the moment.

I found it rather stupid (not funny at all). Your site was not translated by a human being, but by our beloved Google-ji-maharaj (वैसे अधिकांश भारतीय अनुवाद में इससे भी बुरा ही करते). In California I see a lot of stuff written in Spanish – I go to Google-Translation for help; and most of the time I get bunch of English words placed randomly. Have fun: http://translate.google.com/translate_t

Poor reader. I am trying to make a meaning out of it. :PI tried to correct the translation there in Google translator, it has accepted mine but yet to show it… still showing the old one. 🙂

Another site that scrounges content from the web in order to earn from advertisements, I suppose.

Ok Ok!! Hold your horses everyone. It was me :). I was just trying new language tool at Google which also has web page translation. I read and write hindi well and I was also rolling on floor after looking the results, i.e., translation of this post. Sigh.. Google’s Hindi translation is extremely poor, it can’t translate even a single sentence from english to hindi. Just try something and i bet you’ll laugh rest of the day.Mk

Thank the site for the crappy font, even if someone tried, he’d give up and rather would try to understand its english version 🙂

Backpakker so I thought too, I mean it was difficult to understand my own post.Atul, while I was writing I thought of you and whether you would not be amused. I have nothing against Hindi, i am from eastern UP and can speak even Bhojpuri fluently. But this was one of those quirks.Cuckoo, thanks for sharing your experience.Sidhu, we will hold our high horses as Madhukar suggested.Madhukar, thanks for letting us know and for the laugh.Cuckoo did you get to know who it was?Maverick, I mean the Hindi was so strange that I didn’t even notice the font. Thanks for bringing that up.
