Meet the Newest Member of the Brat Pack

Posted on October 11, 2009
There are Brat 1 and 2 and then there is Brat 3. So meet Brat 4 now.

Chhavi is 2 and the Newest of the Brat pack.
We brought her home an hour ago. She has already traveled with me and Sesha from Chandigarh to New Delhi and she is an angel. I mean she met me really for the first time (we saw each-other briefly two weeks ago for maybe 15 minutes) and yet after the journey I have the energy to blog. We are extremely lucky to be able to adopt her in just about 5 months since we started the process.
I think it will take us a week to turn her into a brat. But I think I can pull her out for travel sooner rather than later given her performance today.

Rajeev, thank you. Actually we were told that the wait period is 1.5 years or so after approval, so we didn't know it will this soon. When we went to Chandigarh we went thinking that we have to wait for 1.5 years and there she was and now with us in 2 weeks. So traveling more was just like that.

This is fantastic Mridula! I've had the honor to be a 'godmother' to an adopted kid and have seen her grow beautifully into a teen now, so know how much joy there is to share.Chhavi looks very sweet. Congratulations and all the very best to you and Sesha.

Fida, we also hope so that we will be able to take her out on day trips at least quite soon. She is well on her way to become a brat, she is already quite different than the shy kid we met first!
