I took this picture a long time back, with my first digital camera (Nikon Coolpix 3200). I still remember I was opening the car and about to go to the college when I noticed this insect. Of course, I took out the camera from the purse and clicked it. These days I somehow do not carry a camera in my purse (though I have an eye on any good 5 mega pixel camera phone, are the Sony ones good?) nd I have not touched the DSLR in the past 3 weeks. Another thing that I have noticed is that I used to take better close ups with this basic camera rather than with my Canon 350 D. Guess I need more practice with the DSLR.
Awesome photo Mridula. Even very basic cameras can produce lovely pictures – because afterall it depends on the photographer and you are good 🙂
oh that was me.
I know the feeling. The DSLR is a beast that takes getting used to…but when you really master it, it’s a whole different thing altogether 🙂
That was wonderful close up shot. And I echo Deepak’s views. :)Keep clicking.
if you are looking at digital cameras and not SLR i would suggest Nikon Coolpix as the best bet than Sony. I upgraded from coolpix 3.2 to 6 and the best thing about coolpix is the battery and it is constant so u can resuse them as back-up.
At JJ Mehta they have an excellent discussion board.
This is really amazing shot!! Stay Well.
Priyank, thanks for boosting my confidence! Deepak, I guess I already like the pictures from the Spiti trip with the DSLR but yes, still have to learn a lot.Cuckoo, thank you.Sathish, I am looking for a camera phone to replace my Nikon Coolpix 3200 that I used to carry in my purse.Wanderer, thank you for pointing that out. Thanks, Pijush,
Opening the car? Do you know how to repair cars? I am impressed!:DAs for 5 megapixel camera phones, have you taken a look at the Nokia N-series models? A bit expensive, though, I must admit…I believe one of those even has a 3x optical zoom.
Meanwhile, here’s something on Digital SLRs that I came across, a few days ago: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/21/technology/21pogue.html?ex=1198382400&en=4d2bc130fedf71eb&ei=5087&excamp=GGTEnikonslr
Hi :I think a basic digital camera is really good for the normal photography unless you are looking for the perfect shot or need to really use the perfect lens to get it . Its after all the eye for photography that is most imp. even with a SLR. I have had a sony cybershot for the past couple of years and the pics speak about how a normal camera can do most of the job 🙂 Checkout pics taken using cybershot 🙂 http://flickr.com/photos/anuradhac/sets/Cheers!Anu—————————http://anusdigitalworld.blogspot.com/—————————
Anu, I checked out your pictures (though not all) and they are lovely.
