Lancaster Castle, UK

Posted on December 21, 2009

Lancaster Castle, UK (clicked later during the day)

If you see a big castle in the middle of the city at night what would you do? Like me, probably you would go closer to the notice board and try to see the opening times?

Lancaster Castle, Her Majesty’s Prison!

I went ahead only to find this notice- Her Majesty’s Prison! At night in a foreign country reading the notice board I felt a little scared and chilly. Still how could I run away without clicking a quick picture of the notice board?
I was later told that there are courts that are part of the Lancaster Castle and open to public. No, I could not go there because I clicked the day pictures by taking a detour as I was walking to the bus stop. And the only free day I had, on Saturday, I spent walking around and up to Morecambe.

Interesting bit was where you described feeling scared when you read Queen's Prison.

it doesnt look the least like a prison… or at least what i would imagine of a prison…. must have been a real shock, learning that it was a prison only when you went right up to it.. but i am surprised they allowed you to take pics!!!

Amarjit that is a lot of link but I am going to let it stay for once. :DFida, it indeed was!Abhilash I never had time to go inside but I agree the notice did scare me.Sanand I was really was. One of my colleagues told me it is a very low grade prison or they would have never let it be in the middle of the city.Chitra this one also housed a prison!Anu there was no one outside not a sign I could not take a picture, though yes, for sure there was a camera over my head. But then I decided to risk a quick shot anyway!Tushar thank you.

Well guys why dnt try fox zipping @ neemrana … Let me share my experience with you guys. There starts our journey at 5 am …wow…college ya office jaan layi asin kade eni jaldi nahi utthe…but for this fascinating trip ,all wre ready by six…got there by 8…just 2 hrs on the road….Had a break for a light breakfast just before the entrance to neemrana…it was time to relish the food…The food, juice, toast was prepared by Puneet which hi took from his home. After the delicious food, the gang started off….Magnets on the road that wre attracting us were the Suzuki Hayabusa –Can u beat it??we wre at the speed of striking 100km/h ….thn suddenly u realise somthing crossed you travelling at the speed of light.again n again….it was none other than Suzuki Hayabusa in a row……STUNNED-STARTLED…….GAZED…….Followed them but thn again back to the track…The feeling u have hanging at the cables ,flying in the air, touching the sky, reaching God is just marvellous n …first u feel its angerous..but………The zeal in us was fuuulll……..I felt as if I can find sky talkin to me…. Speechless ……………glorious……..it was a gala-moment…the cool breeze making u feel at the peek point of glory..the world doesnt matter to u….forget abt all tensions n enter the world of happiness with a new beginning n new life…the longest of the cables was 400m …..there were 5 kind of cables….such high from the ground in the air,i cud have a bird's eye-view of the place…i was soaring higher n higher in the sky and yelling out of happiness………..we went zipping n came down with contented -hearts………It really is fabulous – so innovative and exciting…A totally exhilarating experience. I had the most brilliant time, in fact I loved every second of it.

Suffixing and prefixing sometimes can have undesired effect..Now what is meant by Her Majesty's Prison? A place owned by Her Majesty or a place where her majesty stays….
