Ladies with a Big Nose Ring and Big Smiles, Jaisalmer

I had a great day at Jaisalmer. After a hearty breakfast at Suryagarh we headed out to the city and spent a lot of time in the fort area. While we were walking, I spotted these two ladies and it was their nose rings that attracted me. They were quite happy with their mobile phone and I do’t think they noticed me with my camera.

And then just a minutes this lady in red and the same big nose ring walked by me.

Is this part of their tradition or beliefs? I once saw in Nepal this lots of rings on women neck. It kinda heavy to look at but when asked they say that it just okay.
