Grasmere Church Car Park- Honesty Box

Grasmere, Lake District, UK- Church Car Park

I visited Grasmere and thoroughly liked the place. It is a small town in the lake district in UK. I just merely turned up there as it was the last stop for the bus! It has an old church and poet Wordsworth’s grave. But then the place deserves a big blog post.

What also caught my eye was the signs that pointed you to honesty boxes. One such can be seen above near a car park. Drop your money in the honesty box. I wonder what it would be like to live in a place like that?

Looks like you tick off both Lake District and Scotland this time. Eagerly waiting for detailed log.

Honesty boxes are quite common here… Hay-on-Way also has a honesty bookstore… I think it is first of it’s kind.

Yes Akhila but it was ticking off only and not really exploring particularly for Edinburgh.

Debarpita thanks for telling us that but really sad to see parts of UK facing so much violence.

Anu they may work in the interiors in some parts like Spiti? But I guess people are not going to try.

Tarun, bit by bit, there has to be a Gonomad story as well. And thanks for sharing the verse.

Lakshmi it is 40 minutes from Lancaster and Lancaster is about 2 hours from London. So that is a rough estimate, might take more time depending on the train connections.

Chitra I think of the New Zealand tourism ads also show honesty box, but other than that I too saw it for the first time in person 😀
