There are so many of these around the area where I live, it is difficult to imagine that these are the best pictures of the Gulmohar flowers that I could manage!

    ohh pretty! are these the same trees which we call fire tree or something like that? since when it blooms you can see only the flowers.. there is no green evident at that time

    Ever tried eating it? As a kid I used to pluck flower leaf from its base and eat it – mild sour in taste. BTW Genda (Marigold) tastes good – if you remove all tiny yellow flowers (one Marigold flower is a thick bunch of many little flowers), you will find a round base (all tiny individual yellow leaves/ flowers are attached to this base) – used to eat this stuff when I was a kid….
