We have not taken Chhavi too many times on flights, I think she has done it 3 times, 6 flights in all. And twice only with her father. The one time I was also there, we were coming back from Bangalore. We had three seats among us and Chhavi was quite comfortable throughout the flight. She kept on telling some stories to us and at that point of she would not even form proper sentences. I also remember she had a potato snack which she kept munching and was in a reasonable mood.
At some point the kids in the front row and she played a small game of hide and seek, as those kids were big enough to indulge her. While we were getting down a gentleman commented to her laughing, “you are such a quiet kid!” It is only then we realized how much ruckus she was creating. For us it was business as usual and we were thankful that she was not upset or howling.
On one of the travel forums, I was recently reading a query from a lady who was about to book flights to India. She asked if she should book on an Indian or Asian airlines as they are more kid friendly than European ones as she was traveling with two kids. That made me realize how much we take it for granted in India that if we are with kids others will accommodate us.
Very true. I have seen many families not even uttering a sigle word to their children even if they make the place upside down. Children will behave like children but I feel we must help them to control, it so that it doesn’t affect others.
Kingfisher was once known to have flown kids without seats on laps of parents…
I agree with you Chitra. We try not to let her bring down a place.
Shrinidhi not Spice Jet. 😀
You’re right, Indian people are generally very accommodative.
Some people take advantage of that though… especially seen in movie theatres when they talk freely and loudly when others are trying to enjoy the movie.
