Ducks at Bhimtal

Posted on May 3, 2010
Ducks at Bhimtal Uttrakhand
In the Golden Light

I made an exception and got early at my last day Bhimtal to go around and take a few pictures. The sun rises at an angle that makes the water go golden particularly on the ripples. I like this photo a lot now. But when I took it I was in a hurry and did not look at the pictures on the LCD screen. It was only when I was far far away from the place that I realized that the gold on the ripples looks so beautiful. I could have tried a better shot had I known how they look in a picture.

There are two lessons for me in this story. One that sometimes I am so glued to the camera that I do not really look at the scene. And two that I should worry about the battery later (more so as I have two) and use my camera LCD more.

Lovely colors on this picture… I like that the gold almost matches the orange in the beaks and the white is in strong contrast to the blue of the water.

Picture looks perfect and the ducks have given a nice pose. The background blue with Gold applique is stunning.
