Bluethroat (Luscinia svecica)- A Small Cute Bird

Posted on December 6, 2010February 22, 2018
Blue Throat, A Small and Beautiful Bird, India
What a Beauty

Chhavi and Sesha had gone to visit my sister and my niece (Brat 3) over the weekend. I decided to go for walks and see what birds I get to click. I took Brat 1 also along (Brat 2 is in Dubai on a 10 month internship) and we wandered for a few hours. In urban living you get to click birds near drainage and this Bluethroat beauty I of course clicked near a ganda nala (drainage).

Brat 1 and I were on one side of the few feet wide drainage and this bird was on the other side. I almost left it at first thinking it was a female Indian Robin. But then I saw its blue neck and I was sold out. Clicked many pictures but as the bird was at quite some distance this is all I could manage of this Bluethroat. I could identify it from this page.
