Last Call to Board a Flight
Has it ever happened to you that your name was called on the PA system because you were supposed to board your flight?
Never happended to me, though I always get curious as to why people are not at their boarding gates!

Its Delhi, they might have gotten stuck in traffic jam (just outside the airport).

I have never had my name called. I travel at least twice a month both internationally and domestically, but I think it would be interesting to see how they pronounce my German/Brazilian name.Ms Traveling Pantshttp://www.mstravelingpants.travel

I would like them to announce my blog URL, instead of calling out my name… 🙂

At the new terminal, Delhi Airport I found that the number of announcements were far too many and too irritating and loud. We boarded numerous flights at various airports but I do not remember finding it difficult, to do anything except to listen to the constant announcements. It seemed that the number of people missing their flights is exceptionally high in India

I guess the airline would rather do this than deal with putting those that miss flights into other ones.

Ramesh I always wonder if they are shopping :DNamita, I know the announcements are quite distracting.Bindu I think these days if you have checked in your luggage the airlines are very cagey for someone missing their flight due to security reasons.

Probably iPod is the culprit? People forget the world around- with an ipod in their ears and a book or something in hand, they miss to hear announcements?

Some people may have lost track of time, or just careless, or dining at a restaurant and forgotten about boarding, or perhaps got busy with alcoholic drinks…reasons can be many. I'd not want to miss a flight so am careful always to make a note of the boarding time.

very often people get confused about the boarding gates,, that could be a reason. i have had occasions when i mistakenly sat at the wrong boarding gate cuz the same airlines was doing the same route in short intervals.
