When I was invited to the Lake Palace I didn’t realize it was literally in the middle of a lake! So, I was indeed thrilled to take the boat to the Lake Palace, Nahargarh. The lobby was nicely done and within minutes I was shown my room. I am told that all the rooms face the lake, mine certainly did. There was a small alcove by the window which was my favorite place in the room, I could see the lake from there.
The next day, I took the trouble to get up at sunrise and I was amply rewarded with the view. As the hotel is in the middle of the lake, it has its own boats. So anywhere you have to go, first you take the boat to cross the lake.
My second most favorite place at the hotel was the infinity pool. This was my first experience of an infinity pool and it is always going to remain special to me. I went swimming early morning so I had the entire lovely pool to myself!
I did two exciting side excursions from Nahargarh. The first was to the Mahanal Temples and Math of Menal. I was told that during monsoon the place is even more beautiful as there is a waterfall nearby. The temple is traced back to 11 AD. It is well maintained and the premises were clean. When I went there it was almost empty.
The other side trip was to Chittorgarh and its famous fort. I also had the opportunity to watch the light and sound show at the fort. It was quite amazing.
Back at the palace, I had a leisurely time. There was a tea maker in the room which is a must in my definition. The food was good but their desserts were even better!
When you are there, do try their Gulabjamuns with or without ice-creams. It is truly delicious.
And on that sweet note I will leave you with the video of my room at the Lake Palace, Nahargarh!

That is a nice location for a hotel.

Any boating in this lake. The sunset at this lake is great. i was expecting that from you. Other photographs are superb.
Thank you Pradip. As this lake has only the hotel I thought the boats were for the hotel guests!
The palace looks fabulous, particularly the one with sunrise!
