21 Gun Salute International Vintage Car Rally and Concours Show 2016

Posted on January 5, 2016November 6, 2016

If you are a vintage car aficionado you need to watch out for the 21 Gun Salute International Vintage Car Rally and Concours Show 2016. It will be held on 6th and 7th February 2016 in Delhi. I attended the press conference for the event held at the restaurant by the same name 21 Gun Salute in Gurgaon. It is the sixth addition of the event that will happen in 2016.

The founder of the event Mr. Madan Mohan spoke at the press conference at length about the 21 Gun Salute International Vintage Car Rally and Concours Show. His enthusiasm for vintage cars was obvious! He had a great interaction with reporters about the intricacies of maintaining a vintage car, procuring parts and restoring them. He also mentioned that the largest cache of such cars used to be with the erstwhile kingdoms of India! I hope I didn’t hear it wrong but he has 250 vintage cars in his collection!

Thy had parked a beauty right in the middle of the restaurant. We quizzed the people working at the restaurant about how they got the car inside the restaurant through the narrow staircases? They reluctantly told us it was via the windows!

But back to the event, on 6th February there would be  display of cars at the Red Fort Area. There would be 15 cars from India and abroad on display. The countries taking part are this time are USA, UK, France, Germany, China, Sri Lanka and Nepal apart from hosts India. Imagine getting all these cars out of the customs and into the country!

The action would shift to the Gautam Buddha F1 Circuit on February 7, 2016. There would be  race on the tracks! So, if you are a Vintage Car enthusiast do check out the 21 Gun Salute International Vintage Car Rally and Concours Show 2016 in Delhi.
