I quite enjoy doing the sky watch posts. I was thinking about what to post yesterday and I realized there was no sky pictures left that were worth posting from my previous trips. At times like these I rummage my old folders quite thoroughly and I usually find something.
But today I picked up my cup of tea and went to the terrace to see if the evening sky would throw some drama for me. I walked just with my cell phone. But One look at the sky and I went back to get my camera.
There was a lot of drama in the evening sky. I had a cup of tea in my hand, Chhavi was out with Seshadri playing somewhere and I have one week of vacation to look forward to! It was a really happy combination! So, instead of clicking a lot of pictures I clicked a few and then savored my tea and the idea that I have one week off from work and that Chhavi and I are traveling alone!
But then the sky compelled me leave my musings and pick up the camera again. The sky today evening was beautiful in my part of the world.
So, from Sunday, Chhavi and I start a small trip again to Shivpuri region near Rishikesh. I have to remember to click many sky pictures so that I do not run out of them till my next trip, whenever that happens. It is also one of those rare trips when i have a day off before I start the trip. I plan to sleep in late tomorrow morning. May you have a bright weekend.
I guess I am cheating a little today. I picked this picture for Sky Watch Friday more because of the overloaded bus rather than the sky. But it has blue sky too, won’t you agree? But then it has been one of those weeks where it feels weekend came after five rather than the regular one week. So you have to give me some sack.
Also I thought the saying on the bus was great ‘100 में से 80 बेईमान फिर भी मेरा देश महान’ (’80 out of 100 people are corrupt by still my country is great’ is a rough translation).
I was coming back from a wonderful stay at the Jaipur Marriott. We were not very far away from reaching home. I was feeling quite lethargic by now, a bit impatient too. After all it is at the end of the journey when you wish to reach home fast. And then I witnessed this scene on the Jaipur-Delhi Highway.
I hesitated initially because if the passengers notice someone clicking a picture, particularly a woman, they can start shouting and hooting. And I was in no mood for that. But then the scene was too delicious to let go without an attempt. No one noticed me clicking the picture from the car. I guess the boys were too busy holding on to their dear life!
But the biggest coincidence was when I posted this on Facebook and my sister shared it. One of her friend’s said the students were from the polytechnic where she is a teacher! She had some very sharp words to say about this habit of her students. Of course there have been accidents in the past. But then it is indeed a small world, where you click a random picture and someone finds a connection with it!
Took this picture somewhere on a flight from Delhi to Mumbai. I was amazed at the number of rays I could see with the eye. Not the same effect in the picture.
Beautiful Sky, From a Delhi Mumbai Flight
For the nth time I love sitting on the window seat on a plane because of this. At 35000 feet sometimes the drama in the sky is completely worth it. This post is part of Sky Watch Friday. Do check it out.
The sky was truly magical on 15th August in my parts. It was also India’s independence day! I was glad I was out with my camera in my balcony.
A little later the sky was of a darker hue.
