When I visited Malaysia for the Malaysia Tourism Hunt 2012 my first stop was Pullman Putrajaya Lakeside. Before leaving someone who knows Malaysia asked me where was I staying and when I said Putrajaya they were suitably impressed. I now understand why. It is a really beautiful hotel and has an equally beautiful location.
True to my form I arrived at the hotel without sleeping a wink in the flight as I was watching back to back movies. After the check in I decided to crash, I wanted to sleep till lunch. When I entered the room I liked what I saw.
These days I click a hotel room as soon as I enter it, after all it is not going to look the same once I have put my signature over it! At the check in I was told that my room mate was from Taiwan and she would arrive later some time.
We used to eat at the buffet called B’s and they had a wide selection which always included vegetarian food. And their sweet dish table was lavish too.
The hotel looked pretty huge and when I was trying to find my room I was promptly lost! While walking clueless I found another couple who looked equally bewildered and I asked thme, “Are you lost too?” They laughed and said yes. At least I was not alone. Then came a hotel employee and he asked me if I was lost? When I said yes, he escorted me to my room, making sure I would no longer roam around in the corridors like a zombie!
If you walk behind B’s (but ask for directions to be sure, my direction giving capacity is like my sense of direction) you would reach the lakeside. And it is a beautiful spot.
I spent quite sometime walking around the lakeside. It is a popular spot with the locals too. On my return from other parts of Malaysia I stayed at Pullman Putrajaya Lakeside again. Only this time I was sharing a suit with another lady. The suit was out of this world! It had a Jacuzzi and view of the lakeside to admire! Overall Pullman Putrajaya Lakeside is a beautiful hotel and I had a very comfortable stay there.
PS. The last picture is much more heavily edited that my usual stuff. I could not get it right any other way!
I know you must be thinking how can a hotel be a part of skywatch? But if the hotel is as beautiful as Pullman Putrajaya Lakeside in Malaysia it can actually add to skywatch!
I stayed at Pullman Putrajaya Lakeside twice. The first time was at the beginning of my stay for Malaysia Tourism Hunt 2012. This picture was taken on the morning of our drive being flagged off. We were traveling in a 25 plus car convoy and it would always take some time for all of us to assemble. While waiting for the other cars I noticed that I had a lovely view of the hotel and the light was good too. So I got out of my car and clicked the above picture. The hotel is owned by the Putrajaya Corporation and is a great resort if you are looking for a place to stay at Putrajaya. Putrajaya is closer to KL International Airport too.
When the Hunt was over (which took me over 1000km in Malaysia) I stayed another night at the same hotel, only this time in their third floor suite! And this was the night view from my balcony. I didn’t had a tripod but clicked this by putting the camera on the balcony railing. I loved the night sky and the view I had. If their rooms are beautiful their suite was definitely luxurious! And the view was the icing on the cake!

Have you ever tried blogging when your brain is a mush? I am at KL International Airport waiting for the two Mumbai participants to arrive. I know how international immigration is so I am patient. I myself first went to departure gates instead of arrival train when I arrived at KLIAThe good bit is that I arrived earlier so I could take all my time.
The next good bit is that my laptop is charged and it is getting a wifi signal at the airport. Initially I tried with my cell phone but it didn’t work. I had a decent flight and watched two movies, Vicky Donor and I am Sam. I usually do not get teary eyed while watching movies but I don’t know why I cried buckets while watching I am Sam! Thank god that the young lad on the next seat was fast asleep!
I have been clicking pictures on my cell phone but none of them are good enough to go on the blog, so have to try later once I have slept a bit.
I have a start of a cold too but not too bad.
But my brain is completely a mush. Did I say that before? Well I can’t say it enough and yet I love to travel, jet lag and all!
While I was trying to find out my exit counter at immigration I by mistake went to the transit visa line. Realized that soon and asked a kind lady where should I go? In that area a lot of people were sitting down and by the look of it I think they were going to spend much longer at the airport! It was a strange feeling.
And now either the Mumbai flight is delayed or the hotel person has left me! So I have to go and check.
PS. I have now checked in at the Pullman Hotel at Putra Jaya. I have caught up on sleep a bit and with food inside my stomach the world is so much better place!
I started my India travel blog, Travel Tales from India in 2005. In 2016 I realized Travel Tales from India and Abroad better reflected my writings. I love to walk and ride in metros around the world. I have not been everywhere, I am not even close, but it is on my list. I also quit my job as a professor in 2015, it was a happening year! I did a Ph.D. from IIT Kanpur ages ago!
