Don’t go by the color of the water, this is a ditch in the neighborhood where lapwings are a regular feature. I have observed that these birds lay their eggs on the ground and if by mistake if you start walking that way, they scream and scream.
Looks like this egret got a bit dirty after taking a dip in the ditch water.
I get to see a lot of Mynas. Like this pictures because it felt like they were sitting on a swing.
And here was an Eurasian Collared Dove peacefully going about its business.
And finally even though this is not a bird I see them so often. And I know it is eating rice because someone had left cooked rice for the birds and squirrels on this wall.
I got this Indian Pond Heron in the neighborhood. I got to take the first shot from a very close distance but I messed it up, it came out completely out of focus. The good thing is that is still Sunday to take a few more shots. Got to see and click many birds. Looking forward to tomorrow for clicking more birds.
I started my India travel blog, Travel Tales from India in 2005. In 2016 I realized Travel Tales from India and Abroad better reflected my writings. I love to walk and ride in metros around the world. I have not been everywhere, I am not even close, but it is on my list. I also quit my job as a professor in 2015, it was a happening year! I did a Ph.D. from IIT Kanpur ages ago!
