JW Marriott Mussoorie Walnut Grove Resort and Spa spotlit me solid with its specialty dining experiences. Before I could completely digest my breakfast by the stream, I was out to enjoy a farm lunch. The folks at JW Marriott grow a lot of organic stuff on their farm. And they can set a table for a lunch or dinner on the same stunning venue. It was such a pleasure to see tomatoes growing on the vine. So here I go talking about my farm lunch with JW Marriott Mussoorie.
I was sold out on the setting as soon as I set my eyes on it. Right at the entrance there were coolers consisting of champagne and ice lolly. But as I do not like ice lollies I gave it a miss and I am sure it was my loss. They had also kept sunglasses thoughtfully, just in case you forgot to bring yours!
I was ready to dig into the soup as soon as it was served because I was hungry. We had just come back after spending a long time outdoors and that works wonders for whipping up an appetite. My soup vanished in record time.
Then came the wonderful starters and I ate everything you see on the plate and when I say everything I mean everything. The artichokes were flavorful and the salad leaves crisp and tasty. You can see my excellent accompaniment for lunch in the picture- a nice and cool Stella Artois.
Chef Sunil and his team prepared excellent pasta and risotto for our main course. They served the pumpkin risotto in the pumpkin shell itself. The vial is of olive oil.
And to cap it all was this jar of tiramisu which was sinfully good! I told Sunil that he should serve it in much smaller jars. He vehemently disagreed! I finished it all and I am waiting to eat it again!
So here is a heartfelt thanks to Sunil Kumar and his team for the excellent hospitality and food. I will remember them a little more fondly because of their interest in photography, Canon shooters too!
PS. I was invited on this trip by JW Marriott Mussoorie
I started my India travel blog, Travel Tales from India in 2005. In 2016 I realized Travel Tales from India and Abroad better reflected my writings. I love to walk and ride in metros around the world. I have not been everywhere, I am not even close, but it is on my list. I also quit my job as a professor in 2015, it was a happening year! I did a Ph.D. from IIT Kanpur ages ago!
