My complete Della Adventure, Lonavala Story is now up at Gonomad. Give it a look!
Avantika and Sanyukta made me experiment with a lot of adventure stuff. I would not have done half of it without their constant “you should try this.” The first thing that I tried was the high rope activities. When I started climbing up the platform I was quite sure that at some stage I would miss a step and I would be hanging from the safety rope!
If you peer hard you can see a reptile at the top left corner. Didn’t notice it while clicking the picture or else I would have tried to put it in better focus. I clicked this picture at Della Camps.
On day 1 at 11.00 pm at night Avantika and Sanyukta asked me, will you like to go for a massage now? I inwardly groaned, because I was ready to fall asleep standing. But then I decided that I will give it a try. The venue was Della Adventure and I was on an invitation there. So off we went to the Spa and Salon, which are located in the same building. This part is located on the Della Enclave side. Will talk about the Della Enclave in my next post but not sure if it is going to happen tomorrow.
So, 11.00 pm at night on a weekend we could still find the Spa open and I went in for a Swedish Massage. When I came after an hour both the girls asked me about my experience. I have to admit it was a good idea and I found it quite relaxing. Another thing stuck me quite strongly. I cannot remember in ages when was it last time that I was awake and kept still for an hour! Looks like it never ever happens after a while. Or it only happens when I can’t fall asleep on a rare day and that is not a good experience.
About the Salon I guess the picture says it all. That is my new haircut ( you can see the old broom style in the profile picture of this blog) that I acquired at Della. The stylist seen in the picture is Alex (he said his real name is Sailesh but everyone calls him Alex) and he just did wonders with my hair. The trouble is I don’t know how to maintain it like that! So I have gone back to my broom style.
I stayed at the Della Camps for two nights. They call it a camp and a tent. For me this is what is a tent. Something that you can pull down and pack it in a rucksack! I entered my tent after a sumptuous lunch, the air conditioning was on, there were fruits on the table (some chips too) water alongside and soft drinks in the fridge. The bed and pillows too were quite comfortable.
How is this for a tent? As soon as I saw the bathroom I was ready for a soak, I used a jacuzzi for the first time. But you know what I liked most? I had forgotten to bring a toothbrush! And guess what? Apart from the usual stuff, there was a toothbrush as well.
There was a TV in the room and a DVD player as well. And inside the cabinet the tea stock. I have to say I am completely addicted to tea. And the rare place where I do not find it, I sulk and sulk but not so at Della. The camp is a little far away from the adventure complex but there are regular cabs available from the complex to the camp.
Next post is going to be about the Salon and the Spa experience.
