National Tourism Websites (NTOs) and their Youtube, Twitter, Facebook and Flickr Pages

Posted on June 11, 2010

The long list of National Tourism Organization links that you saw was actually to determine how many of them use social media. The answer is quite a few. I could find out information about 80 countries that used at least one social media (Web 2.0, Travel 2.0 or whatever you like to call it) platform. The most popular ones are Facebook, Twitter and Youtube but Flickr at number four. Here is the list of links, if you find an error do let me know. The attempt is to write an academic paper around this, this is just raw data, but I think a first (to the best of my knowledge) compilation of such links in the context of NTOs. I wish I knew to make better tables in word.

I moved the links to the Social Media like Youtube, Flickr, Twitter and Facebook of the NTOs. Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Dear Mridula,
We had some lists of links like this one on our site. I believe it was airline urls. As time goes on, the urls change and you end up with broken links, which the Google spiders do not like.
We ran a check for broken links and nearly half of them were on an old page like this.
I would urge your readers to make a copy if they want to, and then delete it.

Sure Steve, I will give it a week and then take it down. It is brand new at the moment.
